Revegetation - Proserpine River
PROJECT DATES: 30th January 2025 to 31st August 2025
EXPENDITURE: $49,566.00
The Trust took on works to revegetate a section of the Proserpine River as the site did not have an established tree line and was invaded by invasive species. Works included the planting out of selected native trees to banks and riparian zones along the Proserpine River to stabilize the levee bank, provide extra protection for the township, improve water quality and restore native habitat.
The revegetation works at the agreed location were completed on the 26/2/2025. After planting, the maintenance stage began lasting for the next 6 months, with the completion at the end of August 2025. The site is well maintained and the plants are established and thriving.
By Improving the vegetation and ecosystems along the banks to streams the Trust endeavours to restore natural resilience to damage from a flooding event.
