This year’s conference will be held at Mission Beach Resort, Wongaling Beach, Mission Beach, just 140 km south of Cairns. Look in the date and secure your accommodation early, either at the resort (https://www.missionbeachresort.com.au/) or in one of the many accommodation options available in the vicinity.
If you plan to stay longer, there’s plenty of tours for the adventurous and not-so-adventurous. I hope to secure some delegate discounts closer to the date of conference. In the meantime, as a teaser, here’s some of the activities on offer. Mission Beach tours offer a blend of reef, rainforest, and adrenaline, featuring Great Barrier Reef diving, snorkeling on Dunk Island, and spotting cassowaries.
Popular options include skydiving, white-water rafting, and water taxis to nearby islands, with most activities operating between Cairns and Townsville. Top Tours and Activities
• Dunk Island Ferry: Departs daily from Clump Point boat ramp for snorkeling, rainforest walks, and beach relaxation.
• Island Transfers: Water taxis are available to Dunk Island ($50 return for adults, $25 for children) and Bedarra Island.
• Adventure Tours: Skydiving with a beach landing, white-water rafting, and tandem diving on the Great Barrier Reef. • Nature & Wildlife: Walks to spot the endangered cassowary, and tours to the nearby, scenic Paronella Park.

25.03.2026 Update from Cassowary Coast our hosts for 2026 Conference:
Mission Beach Resort is offering a corporate rate of $185/night for RIT attendees. Members just need to book rooms directly through the resort and mention they are attending the State Conference when booking.
