DRFA Tropical Cyclone Alfred Environmental Recovery Program
The Tropical Cyclone (TC) Alfred Environmental Recovery Program (ERP) is an exceptional circumstances package of measures jointly agreed and funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under Category C and D of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) to assist in recovery following an exceptional disaster event.
The objective of the TC Alfred ERP is to support recovery and mitigation efforts in impacted environments, including beaches and coastal islands, catchments, and their associated ecological processes. This program includes both coastline rehabilitation and catchment rehabilitation initiatives, as well as National Park recovery.
DESTI is the delivery agency for this program, and the Environmental Disaster Recovery Unit are currently in the process of developing the catchment rehabilitation initiative as a part of the 2025 TC Alfred severe weather event. Approximately $12 million has been allocated for catchment rehabilitation.
The recovery program is extended to the following RITs
Ipswich Rivers Improvement Trust
Scenic Rim Rivers Improvement Trust
Stanthorpe Shire River Improvement Trust
Warwick Shire River Improvement Trust
